Welcome to Massive Data Computing Lab of HIT.

The Massive Data Computing Research Center (MDC) is an interdisciplinary center focusing on practical and theoretical data management in both industrial and scientific applications. MDC performs fundamental research on big data analysis, data quality, sensory data management, XML data management, parallel database systems, compressed data management, etc.

The faculty members include 3 Professors, 6 Associate Professors and 2 Lecturers. Currently, 20 PhD students and 30 Master students are under training in MDC. The Chair of MDC, Professor Jianzhong Li, is a winner of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, a Chief Scientist of the Major State Basic Research Development Program of China (973 Program), the Executive Director of China Computer Federation, the Director of CCF Technical Committee on Sensor Networks, the Vice Director of CCF Technical Committee on Big Data, the Director of Heilongjiang Branch of China Computer Federation. The Vice Chair of MDC, Professor Hong Gao, is a winner of the Ministry’s New Century Excellent Talents Supporting Plan, the Vice Director of CCF Technical Committee on Database.

For many years, we have been investigating the fundamental theories and practical techniques of massive data computing, under the support of National Science Fund of China, National 973 Programs and so on. We have published more than 500 papers in top journals and leading conferences such as IEEE Transactions on Knowledge and Data Engineering, IEEE Transactions on Parallel and Distributed Systems, Algorithmica, SIGMOD, VLDB, etc. Our research works have been cited for more than 12,000 times.
